Summer Baseball League a Success
GILL's 2009 summer baseball league was a huge success!

We expect to continue to offer this league for the 2010 season. More information to follow in early spring.

How to Register an Umpire

All Grand Island residents ages 13 and up are eligible and encouraged to become and umpire.

Registration Steps:

1. Download and complete the umpire application
2. Download and complete the medical release form.
3. Application Deadline is Apr 1, 2010!

* Umpires must attend (2) Umpire Clinics. Please see below.*

4. Mail the:

1) Umpire Application
2) Medical release form

Important Information

All umpires who's applications are accepted are required to attend (2) Umpire Clinics. These clinics are scheduled as follows:

Clinic #1:

Date: Apr 11
Time: 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Location: GI Nike Base

Clinic #2:

Date: Apr 18
Time: 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Location: GI Nike Base

Clinic #3:

Date: Apr 25
Time: 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Please contact GILL's Head of Umpires: Jerry Augugliaro immediately if :
1. You have not heard from the league regarding your application and the Clinics are upcoming.
2. You applied after the application deadline.
3. You cannot attend the clinics.

2010 pay schedule:
International: (1) umpire per game: $15.00
Minor/Major Baseball: (2) umpires per game: $17.00 - Plate $10.00 - Base
Minor/Major Softball: (2) umpires per game: $17.00 - Plate $10.00 - Base

GILL's Successful 2009 Season
GILL once again enjoyed a very successful baseball season. Our size has grown over the years and now includes over 800 players and well over 100 volunteers. We expect to be near capacity in 2010 so it's encouraged to register early. Registration information will be posted here soon.

New Bat Regulation
Little League has instituted a new bat regulation that will go into effect for the 2009 season.
This new regulation requires all bats used in league play have a Bat Performance Factor (BPF) of 1.15 or less. GILL will more information posted shortly, but if you're planning to purchase a new bat soon, please ensure "BPF 1.15" is marked on the bat.
