Game #11: Yankess vs Red Sox - June 24th, 2009
Red Sox: 13Yankees: 7
Report From the Red Sox
The game between the Red Sox and the Yankees was heated as usual. For the Red Sox, Easton Speers put up another golden glove game,
with a double play made by himself. Caleb Cutting went 4 for 4 at the plate with 2 singles and a pair of doubles. Nick Kawecki toughed
out the entire game with a shoulder injury. Seth Jackson, sporting his new mohawk hair cut, rallied the boys to pull away in the end.
The fans were going wild.
Report From the Yankees
The last 1/2 day of school and summer heat silenced the Yankee bats for 5 innings but the great franchise wouldn't go quietly.
The last inning rally got all of the fans on their feet but the Red Sox lead was just too much to overcome. Solid fielding by Colby M.
and Hayden B, kept the first couple of innings scoreless while consistent hitting by Benny D. and Tyler R. made sure there were always
Yankee base runners. Coach "Crazy Grampa" pulled double duty pitching 2 complete games at the same time.

Game #10: Marlins vs Mets - June 23rd, 2009
Marlins: 14Mets: 7
Report From the Marlins
This was the most anticipated game of the season coming off of two straight rainout's. The Mets showing outstanding
sportsmanship and class lived up to their tough reputation. With the likes of Allison Schonert and the "Jake's" it appeared the Marlins
would have to come from behind. As the score indicates it was a defensive struggle however as luck would have it the Marlins won the coin flip
providing the home team advantage. In the end, as with the entire season it was "team hitting" that led the Marlins to victory. The winning hit
was provided by Alex Paul driving home Luke Webb.
Report From the Mets
Joe Botticello and Emma Halpin had golden gloves, scooping up everything that came their way. At the plate Allyson Schoener and Nathan
Hunt each had 4 hits. Justin Gorrell has been solid behind the plate catching and blocking every pitch thrown his way. The team is ready
to moving into the playoffs as all the players have raised their games!

Game #9: Indians vs Blue Jays - June 22nd, 2009
Indians: 14Blue Jays: 13
Report From the Indians:
The Indians managed to score enough runs to squeak out a victory in the bottom of the 5th inning.
Jacob Neff led the team with 5 hits and scored 3 runs while Forrest Carr and Sierra Maras each made critical
defensive plays late in the 5th inning which stopped the BlueJay Rally. As a team the Indians managed 33hits while only giving up 2
strikeouts.
Report From the Blue Jays
The Blue Jays overcame a slow start but fought back to tie the game in the fifth. Their bats came alive in the fourth inning with
Mike Pappano and Anthony Siefert both hitting clutch doubles. Victor Pavone had a good game behind the plate while Liam Hart, Nico Catanzaro
and Anna Martin all made stellar defensive plays to keep the Jays in the game.

Game #4: Phillies vs Mets - June 19th, 2009
Mets: 12Phillies: 8
Report From the Mets:
The Mets had their bats and gloves working! Jake Knopski hit the cover off the ball and Josh Tamsen
made three outs in one inning while playing 1st base. The Mets played shorthanded
but the entire team raised their game. The fans were treated to some solid baseball, both at the plate
and in the field.
Report From the Phillies
The first playoff game for both teams this season was short on players on both sides but the
game was certainly not short on player determination, effort, and quality plays. Spencer Wiktorowski
of the Philles had a golden glove game at 2nd and short stop knocking down everything that came his way.
Michael Ellegate had a strong complete game in the field as well as swinging the bat. While the Phillies were
down late in the game they came to the plate swinging the bat hard. Jacob Ford ripped a 2 run double over second
base and continued his stellar defensive plays in the infield. Tommy Mankowski continued his season long batting
streak by going 4 for 4 with 4 RBI's. In the end, the Phillies could not overcome an early deficit but no one told
Patrick Harper that as he also went 4 for 4 with 5 RBI's.

Game #1: Indians vs Yankess - June 16th, 2009
Yankees: 24Indians: 22
Report From the Yankees:
The first International playoff game was a slugfest from the opening pitch. The Indians crushed some of the longest balls seen all year
including a Grand Slam Home Run, but the Yankees would let that rock the Yankee tradition. The Yankees chipped away with every at bat as
everyone contributed to the win. Nick K. broke out with a career game blasting 3 doubles and racking up 6 RBI's. Nolan M. took a beating
behind the plate from foul balls and several attempted put outs but never wavered. Thomas T. showed off his rocket of an arm with huge throws
from 3rd base and beyond. Micheal S. displayed nerves of steel blasting several keys hits while down in the count.
Report From the Indians
The International Indians rattled off 36 hits throughout the seesaw battle with the Yankees Tuesday Night.
The Indians were led by Austin Weber ( 4 for 4 with a Grand Slam), Richard Shilling ( 4 for 4 with 2 doubles), and Cameron Fairbairn
adding 3 singles.
